Hampton Wade Anderson, Jr. was born July 19,1928 in Seminole, OK to Reverend Hampton W. and Tessie Arbuckle Anderson, original enrollees of the Choctaw Nation, direct descendants of Pushmataha and Moshlatubbee, former Chiefs of the Great Choctaw Nation.
Anderson was Vice President of the National Congress of Indians, circa 1960's, and in service with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and as a Special Assistant to the Director, Indian Health Service, circa 1970's.
