Biographical:
Harry Culver had a long and distinguished career in Oklahoma journalism. After working at various small state papers, he joined United Press International in 1950 and served as a political and government reporter covering Oklahoma politics. In 1984, he retired from the wire service and became the public information officer for the Oklahoma Office of State Finance. He worked for this office ten years. The recipient of numerous awards, Culver was inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame in 1979 and received the Society of Professional Journalists Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998. He died on February 13, 2005, in Oklahoma City.

Consisting of 15 cubic feet of material, the collection consists of wire copies, newspaper clippings, correspondence, press releases, speeches, and reports either written or gathered by Culver during his years with United Press International. Files are arranged alphabetically.
