Richard Cooper received a PhD in physiology from the University of Texas, Galveston. At the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa, he received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery degree. Richard was an Assistant Professor of Physiology at the University of Missouri and a research associate of the Space Sciences Research Center at the University of Missouri where he co-authored many scientific publications. He was an Assistant Professor of physiology and pharmacology at the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. He served as an associate professor of preclinical science, physiology, and pharmacology at the Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. Richard Cooper was in private practice as a family physician for several years. After retirement, Richard volunteered in the Archives area of St. Francis Hospital.
