Shown above the Capitol steps with Senator Mike Monroney, left, and Representative Victor Wickersham, both seated near the center on the front row. At the extreme right is Mr. W. D. Strom, Beaver County agent who arranged the tour, and Miss Beatrice Gouldin, of the County Home Demonstration office, who assisted. The group heard a surprise speech by Vice-President Lyndon B. Johnson, and talks by Senators Monroney and Kerr and the congressman when Senator Monroney entertained all Oklahoma 4-H delegates at a party in the Conference room of the Capitol's new east front. Senator Kerr was away on the Senate floor when this picture was taken. Washington, D.C. August 17, 1962.
