Contains correspondence between Senators, Dear Colleague letters, copies of bills and copies of the Congressional Record relating to S.1308, Federal Campaign Reform Act of 1987, the Campaign Cost Reduction Act of 1988, the Campaign Broadcast Discount Act of 1988, the Universal Voter Registration Act of 1987, S.207, Campaign Limitation and Public Financing Act, S.577, Fairness in Political Advertising Act, S.625, To amend the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 to limit candidate expenditures of personal funds, and S.2837, Free Political Broadcasting Act of 1986. Some of these bills were offered as an alternative to S.2, Senatorial Election Campaign Act. Also contains Senator Graham's Remarks in Support of S.2, Introduction of Debate Amendment, and other proposed amendments to S.2. Information on these bills was most likely collected as research for amendments to S.2. A note reading "Brett" was written on the outside of the original folder, likely referring to Brett Wesner, Boren's Press Secretary.

Conditions Governing Access

According to the terms of the deed, access to the materials shall be restricted to those individuals providing identification consistent with noncommercial research and scholarly work. All requests for material will be reviewed by the Director and Curator of the Carl Albert Center prior to access being granted. Use of certain manuscript collections or parts of collections are restricted by law, by reason of their origin, or by the donor. In addition, materials which are in the process of being arranged and described are not open for access.
