The Oklahoma Indian Council on Aging (OICA) is an organization made up of advocates who voice the needs of Indian elders within the state of Oklahoma. The OICA has adopted a resolution unanimously opposing proposed eligibility requirements set forth by the Indian Health Service (IHS).
The OICA would like the IHS to keep the eligibility requirements for health services the same as they are presently, to not infringe on tribal sovereignty, and to continue to base future funding levels on patient load and Indian population size.
