The Impact of Federal Indian Programs on Oklahoma Tribes
The Native American Rights Fund is proposing changes to the Food and Agriculture Act of 1977 to make it easier for Oklahoma tribes to participate in the USDA's Food Distribution Program. The proposed changes would eliminate the requirement for proof of actual exercise of governmental jurisdiction, and would make it easier for tribes with limited constitutional powers to qualify for the program.
