The text contains a letter from the Principal Chief of the Osage Nation, Paul Pitts, to US Representative Carl Albert. In the letter, Pitts transmits several documents relating to the Osage Nation's request for a statutory extension of the Osage Community Mineral Reservation. The documents include a decision of the Tenth District Court of Appeals holding that the Osage Tribe has title to the minerals in Osage County, Oklahoma, as well as statements and arguments from the Osage Tribal Council in support of the legislation.
