Identifier: CAC_CC_109_7_32_3_0011
The text contains a letter from June Sears to Representative James R. Jones, asking for help in preventing the Kansas-Delaware tribe from amending an act that would give them part of a $14 million award from the U.S. government. The Kansas-Delaware tribe gave up their right to be a federally recognized tribe in 1864, but now claim to have 700 people who should have a share in the money. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that only the Delaware tribe should receive the money, and the Kansas-Delaware are now trying to amend the act.
