The Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma has submitted comments on the Indian Child Welfare Act of 1977, pointing out that Oklahoma Indians are often left out of federal Indian legislation. The Tribe recommends that the Act be amended to include Oklahoma Tribes, and provides detailed suggestions on how to do so.
