S.666, 1978-05-11
Item — Box: 35, Folder: 24
Identifier: CAC_CC_109_7_35_24_0005
The full House Post Office and Civil Service Committee met this week and ordered S.666 reported favorable. I'm sure you are glad to hear that the Committee finally acted on this legislation. As I understand it, they twice postponed action on this bill due to their heavy work schedule on the Civil Service Reform Legislation. The last time the bill was scheduled, the Committee did not obtain a quorum, again due to conflicting demands made on the Committee's time. Fortunately, they were able to get to it this week.
The next step is for the bill to go through the Rules Committee. Knowing of your interest in this legislation, you may be sure that I will continue to monitor the progress of this bill. Should this come up for a vote on the floor, I will certainly keep your views in mind.
