The Oklahoma Indian Rights Association

The oklahoma Indian rights association has submitted a proposal to the bureau of Indian affairs law enforcement services to provide assistance in the protection of the civil and criminal rights of oklahoma Indians. However, the Bia has determined that oklahoma Indians are not eligible for certain services because they are not considered to be "Indian country." The OIRA is concerned that this attitude will continue to prevent oklahoma Indians from receiving necessary assistance and is considering taking legal action to clarify their rights.
