The text contains a letter from representative James r. Jones to Mrs. Ruthe rogers Purlee, in which he discusses the Arkansas riverbed case. He explains that he has been working to get the government to approve a settlement for the Cherokee people, who have been waiting for payments for their gravel rights on the riverbed. He is disappointed that the bureau of Indian affairs has not been able to take action due to an unclear understanding of their role in the case. Representative jones assures Mrs. Purlee that he is sympathetic to the Cherokee peoples situation and will continue to monitor the developments in the case.
