The text contains a letter from c. E. Metcalf, director of the museums/historic sites division of the oklahoma historical society, to Chris Delaporte of the heritage conservation and recreation service. Metcalf thanks Delaporte for his visit to oklahoma and his frank comments about the funding of preservation projects from the federal level. He goes on to say that the state of oklahoma has been trying to get funding for five projects for some time, but has been unsuccessful due to new guidelines from the hers. Metcalf asks Delaporte to reconsider the funding for these projects, as they are important to the state and have been in the works for some time.
