This text contains a letter from James R. Jones to Bodney R. Yates regarding Paul Neibell's response to the Mob's letter concerning the destruction of sand and gravel assets owned by the Cherokee Nation. In his response, Neibell takes the position that the United States is not liable to compensate the Cherokee Nation for the loss, contrary to the Mob's previous position. Neibell argues that the United States is bound by a fiduciary relationship to the Cherokee Nation and therefore cannot justly ignore the loss incurred by the nation.
