The all Indian pueblo council proposed contracting the facility at the institute of American Indian arts for use as a high school, but the proposal was denied. The bureau of Indian affairs is now studying several options for future relocation of the art program and museum collection, including an offer from Bacone college in oklahoma. No further action has been taken at this point, and the institute continues under the leadership of dr. Wayne Winterton.
