 Item — Box: 38, Folder: 16
Identifier: CAC_CC_109_5_38_16_0038
The text contains a letter from betty j. Brown to Mr. Forrest Gerard, in which she expresses her concern about the proposal to centralize the Anadarko and Muskogee area bureau of Indian affairs (Bia) offices in oklahoma city. She argues that this would be detrimental to oklahoma Indians, who would be further discriminated against and have less access to needed resources. Brown urges Gerard to consider the negative impact of the proposal on the five civilized tribes in particular, and she asks him to keep her views in mind as the Bia makes its decision.
