Item — Box: 38, Folder: 19
Identifier: CAC_CC_109_5_38_19_0013
The united Keetoowah band of Cherokee Indians in oklahoma is urging the United States Department of interior to reconsider its plan to consolidate oklahoma bureau of Indian affairs area offices into one "regional" office in oklahoma city. The band argues that this would be more expensive and disruptive than simply keeping the existing offices in Anadarko and Muskogee. They also argue that it would be more convenient for the majority of Oklahoma's Indian population.
