The Osage tribe of Indians in oklahoma is appealing to the president for advice and intervention into a problem the tribe is facing with the united states army corps of engineers. The corps of engineers desires to cover the Osage reservation with lakes, which would interfere with the tribes production of crude oil and natural gas. The Osage tribe has a reservation which produces a large amount of oil and gas, and the tribe is concerned that the proposed lakes would interfere with this production. The president is asked to consider postponing the construction of the lakes in order to allow the tribe to continue its production of oil and gas.
