The Importance Of Reviewing Your Tribal Bingo Management Contract

 Item — Box: 38, Folder: 21
Identifier: CAC_CC_109_5_38_21_0019
The department of the interior has revised its guidelines for the review of tribal bingo management contracts, and is urging all tribes with unapproved contracts to submit them for review. The new policy was announced in the secretary's letter of august 6, 1985, to the governor of the pueblo of Santa ana. Under the old guidelines, review was at the option of the tribes, but the new policy requires all contracts to be reviewed. This is necessary because anyone can file suit to have an unapproved contract declared null and void, and if successful, recover half of any money paid to any person by or on behalf of the tribe.
