The pupil personnel services section of concho includes the dormitory, guidance and counseling, and recreation programs. Observations of students indicate that they are happy with their situation. The recreation program does not have as many staff as the administration would like, but there are a large number of activities offered, including a student activities center. If there are problems, they usually relate to the home living side of the program. The more serious actions of disruptive behavior most often happen during the hours the student is not in class. The instructions program does provide large amount of personal contact between staff and students. Starting in the fall semester of 1981, concho introduced an intensive residential guidance program that is proving to have beneficial results with many of the children.
