Concerns of the Delaware Tribe of Indians

 Item — Box: 59, Folder: 15
Identifier: CAC_CC_109_7_59_15_0001
The letter is from Carolyn Chrison Wireablo, a member of the Delaware Tribe of Indians, to Representative James R. Jones. Wireablo requests that Jones vote against House Bill No. 3866, which would allocate Delaware Tribal money to non-Delaware people. Wireablo also expresses concern about the Bureau of Indian Affairs (B.I.A.) questioning the federal recognition of the Delaware Tribe, despite a Supreme Court decision and previous acknowledgments. Wireablo asks Jones for his cooperation in voting for a Delaware Tribal recognition bill and requests that a member of his staff conduct a preliminary study on the Delaware Tribe.
