The author, a member of the Delaware Tribe of Indians, is writing to their representative in the House of Representatives, James R. Jones. They request that Jones vote against a bill that would give Delaware Tribal money to non-Delaware people. They also express concern about the Bureau of Indian Affairs no longer recognizing the Delaware Tribe, despite previous acknowledgements and a Supreme Court decision. They ask for Jones support in passing a Delaware Tribal recognition bill and request that a member of his staff study the tribe.
