The Colville Business Council has endorsed specific candidates for positions in the government division of Indian Affairs. The council's chairman, Eddie Palminteri, sent a telegram to Congressman James R. Jones expressing their support for the candidates. Congressman Jones responded with a letter, thanking Palminteri for his interest and assuring him that he will do his best to support the appointment of responsive and concerned candidates. The telegram from Palminteri listed the endorsed candidates for each position. They hope that their endorsement will meet with Jones' approval and support for the implementation of the administration's policy of self-determination for American Indians.
