Susan Mueller, a concerned school teacher from Tulsa, wrote a letter to Congressman James R. Jones expressing her worries about the lack of exposure to legitimate music and arts among children in the United States. She compared the per capita expenditures on the arts in the U.S. to other countries and urged for more support for the arts. Congressman Jones forwarded her letter to Mrs. Walter Mondale, who shared her concerns and thanked Congressman Jones for sending over the informative letter.
