Kenneth T. Hertz, Managing Director of the Tulsa Philharmonic, wrote to Congressman James R. Jones urging him to vote to retain full funding of $150 million for the National Endowment for the Arts. He emphasized the importance of federal funding for the growth and success of the Philharmonic and highlighted the potential negative impact of a $7 million cut in NEA appropriations. Congressman Jones responded, expressing his support for full funding for the Endowment and his opposition to any attempts to cut funding on the House floor. He also mentioned his admiration for the Tulsa Philharmonic and wished them continued success.
