Mrs. Yvonne Lowe from Tulsa, Oklahoma wrote a letter to Congressman James R. Jones inquiring about the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and how it applies to her pension plan at Zebco, a division of Brunswick. Congressman Jones forwarded her letter to the Department of Labor, and they responded explaining that her pension plan is covered by ERISA. They also provided information on vesting standards under ERISA and advised Mrs. Lowe to consult with her pension plan administrator for further details on how the law affects her benefits.
