Dean E. Siler writes to Congressman James R. Jones expressing his opposition to President Ford's recommended 5% pay increase for federal employees. Siler argues that his cost of living has increased significantly and that the Office of Management and Budget and the Civil Service Commission have recommended an 8.66% increase. Congressman Jones responds, thanking Siler for his letter and informing him that a resolution disapproving the President's recommendation has been favorably reported by the Senate Post Office and Civil Service Committee. If passed, the pay increase for federal employees will be 8.66%. Jones appreciates Siler's concern and offers to be of service as his Representative.
