Letter from Carl Albert to Mr. Schooley's concerns about the Trail of Broken Treaties and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The writer states that the Bureau is under the jurisdiction of the Department of the Interior and suggests contacting Secretary Rogers B. Morton for information. The letter also criticizes certain so-called chiefs for not representing the true interests of the Indian people and failing to address issues such as the Washington hold. The writer questions why American Indian issues are not given the same attention as other international matters by government officials and the media.
