Antone, expressed concern about the actions of the American Indian Movement in Washington, stating that their criminal actions do not represent the views of reservation-dwelling Indians. He called for an investigation and prosecution of those involved. The purpose of the press conference was to humanize Indian leaders and address the devastation caused by the American Indian Movement.
