Resolution for Seminole Nation of Oklahoma Claim

On November 7, 1975, a joint resolution was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives by Representative Steed, authorizing the Indian Claims Commission to determine the amount of a claim of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. The resolution was referred to the Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs for study and review. Copies of the resolution were sent to various offices and individuals for consideration. The resolution highlights historical agreements and legislation that led to the deprivation of the Seminole Nation's interests in mineral rights and royalties, and seeks to provide compensation for these losses.
