Harry J. W. Belvin, the Principal Chief of the Choctaw Nation, writes to Senator Mike Monroney to express his frustration with the lack of progress in securing voting rights for Native Americans. He notes that a senator like Monroney, who represents a state with a large Native American population, could easily get the job done if he wanted to. Belvin promises to crusade for the rest of my life against discrimination if nothing is done to help his people.
