The Indian in American Society: A Look at the Past, Present, and Future, 1951-01-01 - 1951-12-31

 Item — Box: 13, Folder: 74
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_13_74_0017
The text discusses the writer's experiences with the Choctaws and other Native American Tribes. He argues that while some members of these communities may not be well-educated or prosperous, this does not mean that they are inherently inferior to other people. The writer himself is a product of both Native American and white culture, and he feels that this gives him a unique perspective on the issue. In general, he believes that Miss Debo's report on the Five Tribes is accurate, but that she should have been more specific in her classification of the people she was writing about.
