The Choctaw Tribe of Indians has been seeking to have a voice in the selection of their Principal Chief, and the Department of the Interior has been working on a plan to allow this to happen. A letter from the Acting Secretary of the Interior from August 12, 1946 indicates that a convention will be held in the Choctaw Country to allow for future nominations. The letter from E. H. Moore asks for an update on the status of this matter and what progress has been made.
