The text contains a letter from Carl Albert to J. Card Duncan in which he informs Duncan that Secretary of the Interior Stewart L. Until has appointed Overton James to serve a two-year term as Governor of the Chickasaws, starting with the expiration of Floyd Matubby's term on October 18, 1963. E. 0. Maytubby has been appointed to serve only until October 18, the remainder of his uncle's term. Albert thanks Duncan for his recommendation of James and expresses his pleasure at endorsing him for the appointment.
