The text contains a letter from Carl Albert to Reverend David Inotichey, in which Albert informs Inotichey that Overton James has been appointed to serve as Governor of the Chickasaw Nation. In the letter, Albert thanks Inotichey for his recommendation of James and states that the wishes of the Chickasaw people should be given consideration in the decision-making process.
