The Navajo Health Authority (NHA) was created by the Navajo Tribal Council in order to improve the health and wellbeing of the Navajo people. The NHA has several goals, including developing health manpower training programs, establishing and operating a center for health professions education, and full utilization of the best of health knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors for all people in the Navajo Nation. The NHA also has a goal of evaluating the performance of the health education system and its components, in order to improve the effectiveness and/or efficiency of the system.
