The Subcommittee on Indian Affairs held hearings on March 18, 19, and 22, 1971 to discuss three bills relating to the disposition of funds appropriated to pay judgments in favor of various Native American Tribes. The first bill, H.R. 1100, would provide for the disposition of funds appropriated to pay a judgment in favor of the Grand River Band of Ottawa Indians. The second bill, H.R. 1444, would provide for the disposition of funds appropriated to pay judgments in favor of the Snohomish Tribe, the Upper Skagit Tribe, and the Snoqualmie and Skykomish Tribes. The third bill, H.R. 3830, would provide for the disposition of judgments recovered by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation.
