The Subcommittee on Indian Affairs of the U.S. House of Representatives will be marking up several bills on July 31 and August 1, including H.R. 6318 (to declare that certain federally owned lands shall be held by the United States in trust for the Burns Indian Colony, Oregon), H.R. 796 (to provide for the disposition of funds appropriated to pay judgments in favor of the Mississippi Sioux Indians in Indian Claims Commission dockets), and H.R. 8063 (to finance the economic development of Indians and Indian organizations). The Subcommittee will also hold hearings on August 14 and 15 on H.R. 2327 (to authorize the sale and exchange of certain lands on the Coeur d'Alene Indian Reservation) and H.R. 10489 (to provide for the disposition of funds to pay a judgment in favor of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of Indians of the Fort Hall Reservation, Idaho).
