The AIO Action Council and its Budget Needs, 1972-04-25

 Item — Box: 282, Folder: 4
Identifier: CAC_CC_026_3_282_4_0040
The text describes the work of the AIO Action Council, a non-profit organization that advocates for Indian affairs and related issues, and solicit financial support from the Textile Workers Union of America. The AIO Action Council is active on a broad range of legislative issues, most dealing specifically with Indian affairs, but of interest to organized labor because so long as American Indians are at the bottom in every economic and social measurement -- employment, income, health, housing and education -- it pulls down the level of the whole economy and is a drag on working people generally and their wages.
