The American Indian Center of Dallas helps orient new families to city living, helps them find housing and employment, refers needy families to the proper social and welfare agencies and sees they get the help they need. Among the Center's continuing activities are a General Education Development Program (GED) through which adults can receive the equivalency of a high school education, a Youth Program for young people between the ages of 14 and 25, two Housewives Clubs, two tutoring programs for first through sixth grade students, an Indian Center Dance Group and a cultural awareness program for youth.
