The text discusses the work of the Women's Advisory Council on Poverty, of which Fred Harris is the chairman. Mrs. Turner expresses her hope that the Council will be able to use Camp Fire Girls' resources to help girls in poverty-stricken areas. She describes some of the ways in which Camp Fire Girls has cooperated with the Office of Economic Opportunity, including providing camping experiences and leadership training for girls from deprived areas.
