AIO is an American Indian-led national organization that stands for compensatory attention to the needs of American Indians, Eskimos, and Aleuts, and for their self-determination. AIO works with all other Indian organizations and tribes in the common cause. It is governed by a twenty-six member Board of Directors, a majority of whom are Indians.
