Richard A. Esley wrote a letter expressing concern about proposed cuts to Disabled Veterans' Pensions, which has since been withdrawn. Legislation has been introduced to stabilize and freeze disability compensation. James R. Jones, a Member of Congress, assures Esley that he will closely follow the hearings and do all he can to help protect veterans' payments. Esley, a disabled veteran, is worried about how he and other veterans will support themselves and their families with limited job opportunities due to disabilities. He feels betrayed by the President and hopes that something can be done to protect veterans' benefits.
