Identifier: CAC_CC_109_7_10_2_0050
The American Legion is advocating for legislation to elevate the position of Director, Veterans Employment Service to Assistant Secretary of Labor for Veterans Employment. They believe this change is necessary to better address the employment needs of veterans, especially young and minority veterans. They have received favorable reports on the current Director of the Veterans Employment Service but believe that granting them Assistant Secretary status would allow for more effective and less frustrating operations. They are urging Congressman James R. Jones to use his influence to support this legislation.
