Various letters and resolutions have been sent to the Secretary of the Interior, Stewart Udall, recommending the reappointment of Overton James as Governor of the Chickasaw Nation. The letters express gratitude for Governor James' work and dedication to the Chickasaw people, and urge the Secretary to consider his reappointment. man Carl Albert and Tom Steed have both joined in recommending Governor James for reappointment. The Secretary's office has acknowledged these recommendations and will bring them to his attention.
