In 1997, man Dick Armey thanked a supporter for their advocacy for legislation protecting charitable organizations from lawsuits related to charitable gift annuities. He explained the background of the issue and the passage of the Charitable Donation Antitrust Immunity Act to prevent such lawsuits in the future.
