Mrs. G. F. Payne wrote to Rep. Carl Albert regarding the payment to members of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes for the sale of their coal lands to the government. Rep. Albert assured her that he would work to have the full amount placed in a supplemental appropriations bill. Mrs. Payne expressed her concern over delays in payment and urged Rep. Albert to do everything in his power to ensure the payment is made in a lump sum.
