 Item — Box: DP 6, Folder: 56
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_6_56_0003
The letter is from Hon. Carl Albert to Mr. Johnston discussing the appropriation of funds for payment for Chickasaw-Choctaw coal and asphalt lands sold to the Federal government. Albert hopes to have the full amount of $8,500,000 placed in a Department of Interior supplemental appropriation bill so that the members of the tribes can be paid in full that year. Albert also expresses sympathy for Johnston's nephew who broke his arm and asks for a speedy recovery. The letter ends with Albert asking for more frequent correspondence.
