Mrs. Ettie Victoria Lane writes to Congressman Carl Albert inquiring about the delay in payment to the Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes for the sale of their lands to the government. Congressman Albert responds, explaining that Congress must first appropriate the funds, which is expected to happen soon. He assures Mrs. Lane that payments will be made on a per capita basis and that it should not take more than three months for the process to be completed.
